Steve V King hails from Miami Florida. A gifted & successful singer/pianist and voice over artiste. Formally of The Official Drifters line up. Steve has toured Internationally performing at numerous theatres, festivals & arenas in America & Europe & is quickly becoming a favourite on the cruise ship circuit.
Creating vocals for the Club, Dance & Hip Hop music genres. Steve has provided samples of artist such as Billy Ocean, KC & The Sunshine Band, Lionel Ritchie & Barry White to name a few. Sony Records recently awarded Steve a gold disk for the first new recordings of The Drifters in over 30 years under PMG & Atlantic Records.
Steve spent 5 years touring with The Official Drifters, paying homage to some of the greatest writers and performers of the 50's, 60's and 70's. With great songs like Saturday Night at the Movies, There Goes my First Love, Save the last Dance for me, More than a number in my little red book, Stand by me, Under the Broad-walk and many more. Steve under the stage name (Steve V.King) featured on GMTV, BBC Radio stations with a recording of Sir Elton Johns 'Sacrifice' helping to raise thousands for the Mildmay Charity for Aids research and care worldwide.
He achieved success by being on the first New recordings of the Drifters in over 30 years rejoining under PMG & Atlantic Records for the auspicious occasion. The Drifters culminated their Concert tour alongside The Drifters Legends at the London O2 Arena in 2009. Steve was recently awarded a Gold Disc from Sony records for sales from 'The Up on the Roof' album. To date the group has 214 million singles & 114 million albums worldwide and counting.
Steve V King has a smooth polished stage performance garnered from a great love of music and 25 years of experience.
He studied Jazz at the prestigious University of Miami before traveling to Europe within the US Military soon attaining a position as Musical Director in the AirForce Band. He toured extensively in the US, Europe and Asia with The AIrForce Entertainment Showcase. He has literally performed for audiences in the thousands, but is equally at home in smaller and intimate venues.
His stage show titled 'There's Something About Soul Music' is a blend of great Songs by The Temptations, Four Tops, O'Jays, Barry White, Lionel Ritchie, The Drifters and a host of gems from the Motown and Soul era. 'There's something about Soul Music' is a tribute to some of the greatest singers and songwriters; its a show not to be missed.
